Mr Fisher shares his ideas with a lot of other folks in this country. ...unfortunately those ideas aren't good for our country in general and the last hundred years have proven that to be true ...Collective Bargaining got a foothold in this country a long time ago and it has done fairly well with that in place, the last 20 years or so has seen the unions fall out of grace somewhat
and as a result even the hard noses seem to agree that we are experiencing a "downfall of the country" as was stated earlier in the thread ...Seems sort of odd that it coincides with the weakening of the unions in the last several years doesn't it.

Don't know what you do or what your education is, but sounds like you should count your blessings. Education has been significantly supplemented in this country by taxpayers, union and non-union workers. Even if you were so privileged as to attend all private schools at some point public education played a role in your cirriculum even if just educating your educators.

There are some who would calculate the true cost of an education in this country and then charge that amount to those that benifit from it.

Consider where you may be if all federal funding for education was stopped both primary and secondary. Think of the advances that would be left uncovered.

Just saying there is a purpose for a strong governemt (=strong country) and government is not just solely for "national defense/military" as some think would cure the counrty. Don't jump to the conclusion that I'm saying the best government controls all and socialize every aspect of society!!!Just saying there are some area of society that are best managed from a government role not a corporate or business role.

Unions are not the death of America. But I think their influence could be more closely regulated and monitored.

Yes, I remember it. 13,000 or so Air Traffic Controllers went on strike during a busy air travel time in direct violation of the no strike clause of their employment contract and federal law.

Their union demanded an immediate across the board 10k a year pay raise and a 32 instead of 40 hour work week.

Ultimately 11,000 plus ATC's were fired by Ronald Reagan. They were replaced from the pool of 22,000 plus non union applicants vying for those already good paying jobs.

Many union leaders and many ATC's were prosecuted for violating Supreme Court tested federal laws.

Sure you don't want to put your beagle hound on here instead of you?

Re: Mitch Daniels takes on LABOR

Ha Ha Ha Gov. Scott Walker duped into talking his strategy to cripple unions with a crank caller...what an IDIOT!!! The caller was actually a liberal blogger. Revealed during the conversation, was the cozy relationship Walker has with the billionaire Koch brothers, who have poured millions of dollars into conservative political causes, including Walker's campaign last year. In the audio Walker compares his stand to that taken by President Ronald Reagan when he fired the nation's air-traffic controllers in 1981. The caller, pretending to be Walkers close friend David Koch, offers to fly Walker to California when he is successful "crushing" the unions to, "Really show you a good time." Walker replied, "All right that would be outstanding." This SOB is crooked as a barrel of snakes..and certainly not very bright to be "pranked" and to have it recorded by a liberal blogger..Ha Ha Ha ..Scott Walker is nothing more than a puppet of the billionaire Koch brothers...
