I disagree. They were the absolute highest, and wouldn't even quote me when they saw my current policy. I had State Farm on the house and all the vehicles too. When they couldn't do anything on my boat policy, it got me to thinking that maybe I needed to shop car and home insurance...so I did, and they got dropped like a bad habit. Found cheaper coverage elsewhere and a much better policy.

I'm sure it can vary among areas though...

People may want to double check the fine print on your policies. There was a fire at Grider Hill (Cumberland) and it took out 16 slips and sank the boats with it. The Corp says the boats have to be salvaged, and the cost is on the owners. Might be wise to make sure your insurance covers salvage and environmental clean up just in case..

Good point I bought a house boat and moved into a slip at Moor's Marina several years ago. They had a fire the year before and a lot of the boat owners told me to be sure and get salvage and enviro clean up insurance because they lost a lot of money by not having it. I called insurance company and found out they had covered this as my agent had owned a houseboat and knew I need it.

My rule of thumb is tell it like it really is only to be sure that if I need to use the policy for accident, I'm covered. $40 or even $50 more a year, is cheap compared to a declined claim. On the other hand, how would they know what speed you were going when the incdent occcurred?
