    Help With Fluorocarbon?

I know this topic has probably been beaten to death on here but I'm headin to bass pro in a couple weeks to get all my line for the year and I am going to give fluorocarbon a try finally. I know I'm behind. Anyway, Im curious what your guys fav brands are to help me decide. Ive been looking at bass pros website and they have so many different types and none of them seem to have real good reviews. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

I like p-line it's the best line out their. The 100% pure fluorocarbon and the halo. I also use the copolymer p-line fluorocarbon fluoroclear for the most part and it's a good price. If you keep the line conditioned with some kvd lure and line conditioner it will do even better I try to keep all my stuff maintained like my reels oiled line kept up and conditioned rod eyes cleaned exc.

I use Seaguar Invis-X, which I love. I am planning on trying out the Sunline Sniper this year too, as I have heard good things on it.

    Re: Help With Fluorocarbon?

The first advice I would give you is learn to tie a double uni knot and put some cheaper line on first as filler and put only as much florocarbon as needed. Also you will save mony doing this if you buy bigger spools since less line gets wasted.

Different florocarbons have different strengths and weaknesses. Some cast better, other are stronger and have better knot strength. Tackletour.com has some good reviews.

Not sure Fluorocarbon is not an other way for manufacturers to sell expensive line? What bothers me it has been touted as being invisible . . but the other day a well noted professional fisherman stated that he went down in diameter in clearer water ??? . . . why would you change the size of something that is invisible??? Little bit of corporate hoodoo???? Just saying! I've fished it but could not tell much difference in what they bill it up to be! Lot stiffer! Educate me . . .

I, to, am going to fluoro this year and did quite a bit of homework on the stuff.....after several hours of investigating i went with seaguar invisx....also seemed the bps fluoro got a lot of good reviews but less than the seaguar....I'd say between the two it depends on your price range

Many factors and many reasonable lines. I fish pure FC now on virtually everything besides a topwater reel and a frog reel.

My all time favorite is gamma pure FC but the cost is high.
I have learned to like Berkley Trilene 100% FC.

I've tried XPS and feel both the Trilene and Gamma are better but it was OK line for the money.

Vanish and Triplefish pure FC is pure sxxx, stay away. Some other obsure line starting with a C was trash too.

I use p-line floroclear and love it--never had a problem---also have tried vanish and not impressed--lost fish on it !
