    Lookin' for a pitchin' rod.

Looking for a pitchin' rod good backbone but with a little tip so I can still pitch lite wieghts as well. Going to get two rods would like them to be the same. Not 6'9" to pitch and 7'6" to flip&pitch. But one rod to do all. Don't want two different feels. These rods will also double for legde fishing in the summer. I'm been using 7' Diawa pro rods great feel super lite but broke 3 of them in 2 seasons. Trying to decide between Abu's Veritas in 7'3" mh fast tip or the 7' carrot stix wild in mh fast tip. BPS has the carbonlite but there is something mental I have with BPS rods, why?
Bye the way, heard they will not be on sale at the classic but will be on sale after the classic. I'm only 5'8" so the taller 7'6" might be to hard to operate propperly. It needs to be able to throw a big football and/or 3/16 oz soft plastic rigs in spring. Love that bush bite on Barkley!
    Any help appreciated!

Take a good look at B&R Outlaw rods, 7' MH is one of the sweetest all around rods I own. I absolutely love this rod! Of the ones you mentioned the Abu Garcia is the only one I have knowledge on and I can say they are sweet.

You need to get the BPS thing out of your head. I bought one used and now I see me buying BPS exclusively from now on. It is a GREAT rod.

BPS rods are just fine. I've had a pro qualifier for about 7 years now and never had issues. Sensitivity is just as good as any high end rod. Your sensitivity is going to come from the type of line you use (Fluro). If Edwin Evers can make a living using them I'm sure us weekend warriors will be just fine using a BPS rod.

i bought some bps carbonlites with the micro guides. they are excellent rods for the money. would rather pitch with a light rod any day and that is what these are.

Don't get me wrong. Bps knows me on a first name basis. I use extreme rods for years. But one fishes harder and better when they have confidence in there tools. Love the look and feel of the carrot stix wild and Abu veritas. If I'm happy and like the equipment then I'm focused on the task at hand and not playing around with fatigue and/or the equipment. Thanks again for the replies.

i would def go with the carrot stix.. i have 2 7footers that are med hvy.. i am using them for jig fishing right now.. but cant wait till the spring gets here so i can use them for flipping.. they have just enough sensitivity it the tip to feel everything, and alot of backbone to get them out of the think stuff..

I know there are a lot of options but I will throw my 2 cents in. Take a look at the All star ASR series rods on tackle warehouse. 7'2" and 7'4". I have 6 of these rods and love them. Good all around. 99.00. Very light and fuji alconite guides.
