    Re: $5.00 GAS

It just amazes me that the talk of a shortage of gas can justify gas station to raise the price of gas immediately. You know the gas in their tanks was the same gas they paid a lower price for. This *****, their profits go up up up and we pay the price. SORRY JUST VENTING

The media its self that announcing that gas will 5 a gallon will start a panic affect and gas will shot up anyway? So why say anything???????? Man there idiots and so many people believe that if the media say's it It is the truth not saying gas will not go to 5 bucks a gallon. Just in general, There is as much oil right under our feet as there is in other countries. What really sux is we are pulling oil from Iraq and selling it on the open market right now. Why don't they bring it here so our economy can once again flourish ?. Hay folks I have a Dr. that is from Russia and he is an older guy he said that this country is following the path of USSR we are just going at it a little slower he said we need to dissolve the whole Government and start over, I about fell out of my chair!
Well I can go on and on about this kind of thing but I will cut it off here. I realy think it is time we doo somthing or pay the price..
Be safe this year and tight lines to all..
Not sure where you're getting your info...there are some wild claims in there, especially about BP. I would recommend some research before you start posting outlandish things.

When a military commander kills a bunch of his country's citizens, including many who work and run the refineries, an impact to the oil market is inevitable...

Add that to the falling value of the dollar (because a certain someone decided to print and spend a lot here lately) and you've got an oil crisis in the US. Someone said $5 per gallon gas this summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see it go to $7!

Here's what I read this morning in the news....

    Oil exports dwindling
The uprising has virtually wiped out Libya's oil exports, said the head of Italy's ENI, Libya's biggest foreign oil operator. The unrest has driven world oil prices up to around $120 a barrel, stoking concern about the economic recovery.

I'll be cutting back for sure. I won't be towing the boat more than 30 minutes from the house, so that means a lot of Ohio River bass fishing, or Taylorsville Lake catfish.

Looks like my wife is going to have to cut back on her expenses because I'm going fishing regardless of how much gas prices rise!!!

    Re: $5.00 GAS

I know it is from July 2010 but who is sticking it to who???

$15.47 BILLION dollars in profits for the QUARTER ending July 2010 total for the top 3 oil companies. $61.88 BILLION dollars in profits if this contines for the year. 91% increase for one company, the other 2 companies "more than tripled their profits". It is estimated that the United States uses 150 Billion gallons of gasoline annually. Take this number and divide into the profit of just the big 3 and you get .412533333 a gallon. If just the big 3 lowered their price by .412533333, they break even, not lose but not continue to get filthy rich each and every quarter. Part of the problem happened years ago when the government let companies like Exxon and Mobil join forces, Conoco and Phillips and such. What would happen if Walmart went out and bought K mart and Target, if Lowes bought Home Depot, if Bass Pro Shops bought Gander Mountain and Cabelas, Lucky Craft bought Norman, Bandit, Storm, Strike King and such. There is a word for it, Monopoly. The government is "suppose" to control these such monopolies but there are certain "government granted monopolies" and the oil companies are such. Pretty pathetic if you ask me, but I don't vote, I never voted, I never will vote, if the right hand does not stab you in the heart the left hand will stab you in the back, either way somebody will stick it to us!!

I still stick by my claim that 4.00 gas is what started the recession we are in. By the time you filled the car/truck with 4.00 gas bought groceries beer and cigarettes no one had any money to spend and business started to feel the pain.

    Re: $5.00 GAS

Dang....wish I hadn't sold my canoe now! I will only spend time fishing spots where I know I can get there quick....less time "exploring" and looking for new water.

Or find a way to build a flux-compacitor for my boat....
