Well, some times you just luck out. Today I was fortunate, thanks to my employer and some work with Yokohama Tire, to get to play basketball on the floor of Rupp Arena. We also got schooled on how to shoot free throws by none other than Kyle Macy.
Talk about surreal to run around and take shots on that floor. WOW. There's something about it that makes you think you can run faster and jump higher than you really can on that floor....and I'm sore in places I don't remember being sore in for awhile. LOL
A group of our employees and a group of our retail customers got to have a shoot-around for about an hour, tour of the locker rooms, lunch, meet Kyle Macy and hear him speak about UK Basketball history/traditions. Of course, he schooled us on free throw shooting. What a nice guy! We then had a free-throw shooting contest. My percentages weren't great. LOL I might not yell as loudly at the TV when my boys in blue miss a charity stripe attempt now. I was looking at a backdrop of 24K empty blue seats - I can only imaging when they are filled and screaming at you.
Then we played a little pick-up game for awhile and horsed around...so much fun. I'll bet I jacked up about 50 three point attempts and hit maybe 5 of them. That three point line is a bit of a stroke now! I'm more of an inside threat on the give-n-go. Harrellson-like. They call me, "Vanilla Thunder." LOL
What a cool experience though.
By the way, the shower heads in the UK Locker Room are about 10' off the floor....no joke.

Just jokin must have been a great time. If you ever want to get on the grass at the greatest college football field in the world, Neyland Stadium, let me know I will hook you up. There nothing like the ORANGE and WHITE. GO VOLS!!!!!
Thanks, but I'm okay. If I wanted to throw up I'd just drink a bunch of beer and run on the treadmill.
Ah, I'm just kidding ya man....Neyland is cool....
