I understand that is correct. What you could do after four or five years when they are really big is haul them out and give them to someone that would eat them. They are fun to fight. I have accidently hooked into one; fought it for about 30 minutes before I got him to shore. I didn't want to loose my crankbait.

And then start all over again. If they are 11-12 inches when they start out; a bass should not bother them unless you have some toads in your pond.

This pond has 8-10lb bass in it....no exageration....So i might be afraid of putting a 10 inch grass carp in it...The only way we've figured out to catch those giant bass are with good sized live bluegill....talk about a blast

We use to do that years ago in some lakes and ponds, that is fun as heck. We use to hook them right in the top of the back and spray them with that old Fish Formula you may remember that stuff. We always used a large float, what a blast.

    Re: Pond/triploid carp?

It's not a very big pond so we throw the bluegill out weightless and kinda work it back to the bank.....usually theyll follow it in and you actually get to watch them eat it....it's way off from what i thought watching how they act around something theyre about to eat....you usually think of them just flying in and eating it but amazed me how long they would sit there and look at it till the bluegill took off swimming and they thought it was gonna get away....theyd follow it till it slows down and then eat it....
