    Re: Guntersville mid march?

Like I said 7th trip down there. I got some good holes that always produces, but we take atleast a half a day to try a new place. Pretty big place I try to cut it down to small areas. You can get a feel from the boat ramps and traffic on where the bass are biting. Specialy in mid march. Had some guys down this past week and they did well on numbers with some fish in the 6 pound range. Thats all you can really ask for. Catch some fish with that posibilty to hang a biggin... I'm so fired up I have cleaned the boat a couple times and put all new line on every reel. I'm itchin for some fishin!

Fished the Big G this past Friday and Saturday, Base water temps were 43 (at first light) and rose to as much as 58 in some places. Used XCalibur XR75's in Royal Red, Foxy Shad and Strike King Red Eye's in Gold Black Back 3/4 oz also. JerkBaits in Aurora Black, fished harder bottoms with not as much grass but more shells and rock and that was the ticket. North banks with the sun hitting them was key!! First time I ever had to cull 3lbdr's!!!!!!!

I'm heading down to G-ville in 6 days. Going to fish through the week and head out before the weekend hits. It will still be busy through the week but not as bad as the weekend. After what I've heard about the bite on South Kentucky lake lately I'm thinking I'm going to the wrong lake.

Well we had a great trip. The big fish didn't show up til the bad weather hit. We had bluebird windy days thurs-fri. Managed good numbers on xr50 in royal shad. Same thing on fri. with a few 4 pounders. Then on sat it rained all day and we caught them good. 20+ good keepers and a couple over 5. All in all a good trip hanging out with friends and getting away from the daily grind.

Assuming you caught most of your fish around grass? Did you catch them in the back of the creeks or close to main lake?

We caught fish from front to back. The farther we went back the bigger the bass got. We ended up diggin mud with the trolling motor to catch some fish. Goodluck to all that plan on going down there! It is the best lake in my book! With the rain Sat we couldnt take many photos, here is one we managed to get under a bridge.

Leaving Thursday. Any tips on what parts of the lake to fish? Should I look for the under water vegetation? What lures are working? Thanks in advance!
