I think "noodling season" starts in may. I know i've been a couple of times with some buddies, and the water was still really cold. When you
noodle your trying to catch them off their beds, so it makes sense they
would start feeding in mar-apr. To "bulk-up" for their spawn in may. I'd try settin' some jugs in creeks, on nolin i'd probaby try redrock, or conallaway.... Tr
I've read so many times that they start heavy feeding in March but I have NEVER had any luck jugging until the last week of April and early May. I know someone will say "they've gone under" by then...on the nest...but I've had no luck any earlier.
Don't mean to be off-topic...but I'm referring to catfish in general, not flatheads (never flatheads actually). All my experience has been on Taylorsville. I might try it once or twice this month again just for the sake of it. I'm more interested in finding them in a deep hole while the water is still cold and drift fishing over it.
