Also, the year we got "gutted" Crean stepped in after all of the top flight guys had committed to other schools. His second year recruits (now sophmores) was ranked # 10 in the country. Obviously that ranking was a little high....but Mo Creek getting injured and missing most of two years has really hurt because he is/was the best of the bunch. We sucked this year, but only have one way to go. When the top teams lose their upperclassman and early NBA entries suddenly our team appears to be much better, especially with the addition of what we miss the most in Zeller, a big man who can score.

The rankings are "just that". I did not know this turned into a Conference vs Conference discussion. I thought it was a UK vs IU discussion. But if it must, The Big 3, I mean Big 10, is "just that" the Big 3. Wisconsin, Purdue and Ohio State are ranked in the Top 10 in the RPI and that is ALL that is ranked in the Top 50 RPI. These 3 teams can bring up a sorry overall conference ranking pretty good. SEC has 5 in the Top 40, 5 of the 6 teams in UK's division of the SEC.

IF: "When the top teams lose their upperclassman and early NBA entries suddenly our team appears to be much better, especially with the addition of what we miss the most in Zellar, a big man who can score" is what you need for your team to "appear much better". Then it is worse than I thought. Is Zeller the answer or the other teams that IU play getting worse the answer to their success? Zeller needs to be the next coming of The Diesel Shaq Daddy and the other teams in the Big 3 plus 7 better lose every good player they have before any noise is made by IU.
