Got some info that a small lake I used to fish a lot produced some monster bass last year. I knew it was full of big bluegills and some nice crappie but the bass had always been just OK. I figured what the heck the big lakes around are up and muddy so I gave it a try. Went Saturday with my tour. fishing buddy. When we finely got there he was ready to choke me. Muddy and about a foot high. Put the boat in and it was a whopping 46 degrees thought I was in trouble. We fished the shallow end that had some clear water coming into it and he hooked up with a small one but got off. Moved to the deeper end of the lake and I got two pickups with nothing. I cast at the rip rap at the dam and a big fish swims off. Next cast he sets the hook, rod bent double pulls in a 5.8lb white ghost. Last bite of the day. Monday, both of us are at the lake with our boats. I have my dad with me and he has one of our collage buds. Total for Monday: Me two fish 1-6.25lb, 1-5 inch; Dad one fish 1-4lb even; tour. buddy 0; collage bud 1-6.6lb also a white ghost. All fish were caught in less than five foot of water that had the only deep water in the lake close by. I have been waiting all winter to catch some green fish, and it felt good. A month from now when these fish have some color and full of eggs I hope I am on here braggin again
