Perry Jones, the projected #2 draft pick in the NBA draft, was suspend for the rest of the season for receiving improper benefits. It was reported that his monther took $1,000 from an AAU coach 2 years ago to help her pay her mortgage. She repaid the money shortly thereafter. Can somebody tell me why it is ok for the Buckeye 5 to receive improper benefits but get to play in the bowl game and are suspended next season but Jones is suspended this season? The NCAA is simply pathetic.

Never Close At Accuracy!!!!!!!!
Cam Newton - Dad shops him around for $180,000 but Cam gets to play the whole season
Ohio State 5 football players - take improper benifits but are allowed to play in the bowl game but get suspended NEXT year.
Josh Shelby takes $5757.58 worth of improper benefits but is suspended for only 9 games and allowed to pay back the money.
Enes Kanter receives $33,000 "above and beyond the proper benefits" from a Turkish pro team 2 years ago and is ruled permanently suspended.
John Wall suspended for 2 games and had to pay back $800 to an AAU coach.
Perry Jones mother accepts a load of $1000 from an AAU coach, 2 years ago when Jones was Jr in high school, pays it back but NCAA suspends him for the rest of the season at the drop of a hat right before Baylor plays in their conference tournament game.
I am pretty sure I have the NCAA all figured out about improper benefits:
If an athlete receives from $1 to $801 dollars in improper benefits then it will be a 1 game pre-season and 1 game regular season suspension plus you must pay the money back. If the benefits were from $801 to $5758, it will be a 9 games suspension and you must pay the money back to a charity of your choice. If the benefits were from $5758 to $33,001 dollars then it is a suspension for the rest of your college career. If you dad shops you around for $180,000, but SUPPOSIVELY, did not receive any money then you are cleared to play as long as you are a Heisman Trophy candidate. But if your mother accepts a loan up to $1000, pays back the loan in good faith, then 2 years pass with no other issues, the player will be suspended for the remainder of the season.
Coaches are allowed to lie to the NCAA and not tell the whole story to the NCAA and they will only receive slaps on the wrist.
There you go boys and girls. the NCAA in a nutshell
Plus a guy who had his grades changed and also somehow passes algebra 3 before he passes algebra 2 gets no penalties!![]()
I think they put 20 different penalties on a dart board. Then blindfold one of the idiots on the NCAA Rules Infraction Committee and hands them a dart to throw. Whichever penalty they land on is the one they assign for that infraction. One thing for sure if they did it this way, they would surely be more consistent than what has been shown in the recent past.
Oh do expound on this please. I can't wait to hear this one. Or perhaps you are talking about something that happened prior to the 2009-2010 season.
