Re: Chimney Rock (BEWARE!) Dont go there!

I'll second the recommendation about going to Pandora and launching there. The people at Chimney Rock acted like I was trying to cheat them out of a launch fee one day while I was taking the straps off to launch the boat. They rudely demanded the launch fee and implied that I was trying to cheat them. I was planning on paying when I launched rather than walk down the hill twice. I just quietly put the straps back on and went on down the road to Pandora. At the current rate of $10 and my experiences in the past, I would go to another lake before I used them again.

Re: Chimney Rock (BEWARE!) Dont go there!

I"m not fond with Chimney Rock either. I too was shocked to launch my boat early last year and find they jacked the launch fee to $10. When I ask the dock hand he said it was to pay for the new concrete. So when I ask him what all the $5 fees were for that was paid the last few years he backpeddled and said it was a management decision.
The ONLY time I ever didn't pay a launch fee was the same ramp several years ago. I figured I did $5 worth of work moving all the logs off the ramp so I could launch my boat. Just hoped someone came out after I cleaned their ramp and ask me for my $!!!!!
Go to Pandora for all the reasons above. Don't give Chimney Rock a second thought or a launch fee. IMO

Re: Chimney Rock (BEWARE!) Dont go there!

There is supposed to be a big tourney there on April 30 I hope their not going out at that ramp. 10 bucks is too much. Especialy if there is going to be 100 or more boats.
