    Re: Taylorsville and Rough

Just returned from Taylorsville. Fished for 7 hours and maybe had one bite between two of us. It was tough to launch with the water so high. There was some debris around the ramp, but the rest of the lake was pretty clear. The water was muddy to very stained with the best visibility around 6"-12". The wind was the worst part though, it was pretty brutal out there today. I must be a glutton for punishment because I'm headed to Rough in the morning. I'll post a report when I get back.

    Re: Taylorsville and Rough

Fished Rough today. Between three of us we caught three largmouths and two hybrids. We didn't have any bites until 4pm. We decided to hit the Axtel area and finally did some good with crankbaits. The water was up in the trees and we just couldn't find any fish up near the bank. Hopefully it gets going by next weekend.

I think crankbaits are the best way to go with the muddy water and high levels. A loud colorful crankbait gets the job done in these conditions.

Hey 84, wanted to thank you for the Taylorsville recon. Curious about where you put in. (Possum ridge?) Good luck at Rough tomorrow.

I did put in at Possum Ridge. The water was so high you had to pull your boat up to the concrete to drop someone off. It was very easy to do some damage today. I am thankful that I didnt do any damage and got to run the boat.
