    Nolin Report

I fished Nolin this weekend. The water is 11 ft above summer pool, very muddy with a surface temp of 51 degrees. I tried for bass and crappie but didnt have any luck untill I pulled in a nice 16 inch keeper largemouth this morning on a black and silver sinking shad rap crank bait. I fried it up for lunch and it was **** good. I tried the chartruse big blade spinners with no luck at all and decided to tie on that shad rap this morning and sure enough I pulled one in. I fished for crappie with shiners but never got a bite. There is some debris back towards wax and nolin estates but when you get to dog creek going towards the dam it clears up. Give it a couple weeks and it will be back in prime time.

I love eating bass. I usually do let them go but I decided to keep this one. I just had a hankren for some fresh bass. It went from my livewell to the deep fryer and in my stomach in less than 15 minutes. Thats fresh fish. And it was good. First fry of the year. I love gettin the fry daddy out.

Next time, try some deep rocky banks, use small jigs, or craws, nolin has alot of small ky bass in it, the one's from 10" up to about 14" taste as good as crappie. Esp. Now with the colder water. I always release my largemouth, but nolin has so many ky's, there has'nt been a size limit since i can remember. Tr
