water temps had reached low to mid 60's in the creeks, clarity ranged from clear to lightly stained and the bass bite was unreal. several big fish were caught sunday through tuesday. the jerkbait bite was incredible with numbers and size. pitchin around the debris/logjams produced some big she bass for some of my buddies, forum member "BASSMASTER" had LMs over 6 pitchin. Mainlake is still muddy to heavily stained and the water temps still hung around the high 50's , the bite was slow but some big fish were caught in the wind blown pockets.
The lake has been dropping and the bulk of the debris is either on the bank or hung on something close to the bank, we havent had much trouble running for the last few days.
NOW....throw all the above out the windowwith over an inch of rain in local rain guages last night the inflow in the creeks this morning was pure chocolate and the water temps had dropped 6 degrees since tuesday afternoon. we tricked a couple keeper LMs out the creek ahead of the mudline, and managed a "mess of eatin ky's" and a handful of white bass. a slow bite got slower as the morning went on so the weather/mud had a negative impact on my pattern to say the least.
more cold rain in the forecast for friday night/saturday so the guys that are able to adjust and adapt will still catch fish (not something im good at ).
The crappie bite finally fizzled out for us, not sure if the rapidly falling water had an effect on them or not but it slowed way down, fun while it lasted.
The big bluegills are doing good , on tuesday we took an hour out from bass fishing and put 61 hand sized gills in the cooler, they are hitting worms and berkely powerbait mini tubes in 6-10 foot of water.
Hope this helps, good luck to all.

Wow Stripernut, that is an excellent report. Your information was very detailed. Is it just this time of year, or does it seem that the fish(stripers mostly) turn off real easy with all the unstable weather? It seems that they just shut down for a day or two when the temps crash. I look forward to other multi species reports.
to be honest with you scott i hate unstable weather for stripers no matter what time of the year it is....and yes there is someone out there right now saying "we caught em the other day and the weather was...." now stop and imagine what you might have done 3 days in a row if the weather had been stable ??? and at the end of the day sometimes stripers just lik to be stripers....a pain in the @$$Wow Stripernut, that is an excellent report. Fished for stripers Monday and Tuesday. Very windy, but marked several fish. Only one short Monday in White Oak and 7 fish Tuesday with two keepers in Faubush. Water temp was about 60 degree's and pretty stained. Should get better if tonights rain doesn't mess it up.
i heard that, it cleared up fast after the other nights rain so maybe it wont get us too bad
