Any time you are dealing with a state record fish you know that the media is going to be all over it, just look at all of the rumores that went on for years over the world record smallmouth caught by Mr. Hays. If someone had caught a new state record L.M. it would have been all over the media!!!!!![]()

My wife caught one at Malone this last Saturday, 14lb 1 oz, no it wont go down as a record because one would have to let it die; she got 4 photos with it, measured it, 30 3/4" long, and weighed it, then she released it. She doesn't care about being recognized for a record, she cares that it goes back to the lake and lays some eggs. Why not let such a magnificient fish survive?Has anyone heard that a 14+ largemouth was caught/weighed in at Lake Malone this past weekend? A co-worker of mine phoned with this news this evening. I know how easily rumors get started so I was searching for any verification. I have predicted that Malone would produce the next record, but I was hoping it would be mine.
Thanks

No biggie.......I believe him...........
Hell, I caught a 11lb smallmouth from floyds fork last weekend in the floodwater.
that momma took a double bladed, carolina rigged, hot pink and chartreuse buzzbait......BURNING it.....
I don't have pics or a decent measurement, but I will tell you this....It took a whole loaf of frenchbread, split lengthwise to get her on a sandwich.......
I used the ROE with mayonaise as a nice dressing............mm good.
