Fished Nolin this evening. Put in at wax and ran towards dog creek first. Water was very muddy and in the high 50's. I didn't have any luck in this area so I decided to head back up river from Wax.
Once you got above Wax, the water color was really good, had a nice stain to it. I found some 60 degree water and started fishing.
Bass were stacked on secondary points, on the deep end of the submerged brush. I think the dropping water had them spooked, so they weren't in the brush, but were hanging on the deep end of the brush line.
I caught 2 keepers, about 10 short fish and hooked into something that straightened out the hook on my bitsy bug in about 2 seconds.
If you caught one, there were several more on the point to be caught. All they wanted were small jigs. I'd catch one, then try a larger jig, spinnerbait, crankbait and not get touched. As soon as I threw the small jig back in, I'd catch more fish.
I was pretty happy with the day. I would've liked to have seen the one straightened my hook, but oh well.................
