I've Stayed at Dale Hollow State Park Lodge plenty of times, as well as Lake Cumberland State Park. If I was taking the family I'd probably choose Lake Cumberland State Park because they have trails you can hike along, plenty of other stuff too, plenty of wildlife, deer, wild turkey, etc. Dale Hollow State Park doesn't seem to have as much for my liking, but the fishing at Dale is waaaay better than Cumberland. Both parks are nice though, very reasonable, Cumberland has an indoor pool whereas Dale has an outdoor pool and a golf course if you like to play golf (I don't), both have good food, etc.
