Re: Why Tim T's catch rate has gone down

Tyme, no offense taken guy, its all in good fun. If you can't laugh at yourself you have no right to laugh at someone else is a motto I try and live by. Pretty much everything about me is fair game so hammer away.

chubminnow. They day you met me at the boat show was day number 2, so I was still in the midst of a little withdrawls, which is why I wasn't as talkative as I normally am. Like I said above, its all good.

If ya wanna know what a day was like for me here is a good example. I would wake up around 7 a.m. and on my way to make coffee I would stop and check the refrigirator and count how many beers were in there. Then I would see how much money I had and needed to make sure I had enough beer or money to buy beer, to get me through a day. If I didn't, then I would spend the next few minutes figuring up how I was going to get enough beer to get through the day. This sometimes involved taking some nice fishing tackle or hunting gear to the pawn shop until I got paid.

First beer would be somewhere between 10 a.m. and noon, but through all of that, I never missed a magazine deadline and never had any complaints about my work.

I was only kidding about what I wrote. I thought it was some inside joke and I know I bust your chops about that OTHER team in Kentucky that plays basketball but I would NEVER make fun of what you are going thru if I knew. I appologize for the joke about the boat full of beers and stuff for I was only kidding. My big mouth gets me in trouble most of the time but it is still way to big for even my size 11 1/2 and then some. Hope you stay on the wagon and keep taking it one day at a time. I know I speak for everybody on the board when I say Congrats and keep up the good work. elnut

Woody, it was funny so no need to apologize. Lets not take it too seriously. It doesn't bother me at all guys, we don't have to tip toe like we are walking on egg shells.

I understand. I know there are some on this board that may or may not find it hard to believe but this buddy of mine has been the same way all his life...his drinking never interfered with his ability to earn a living either. I could ALWAYS count on him to have an ice cold beer no matter what time of year or hat time of day, no matter the location. Some people can function like that....but not me, lol....He's one heck of a carpenter, we even hired him out to put a VERY nice 30,000 dollar addition on my parents house about three or four years ago. Got pictures to prove how nice it is, tight, solid, square, plumb and level...He only worked for himself, hasn't had a boss or employer since the mid to late 80's. Of course working for himself only enabled him to continue with his drinking, day in and day out, on the job or not on the job. It is what it is...his problem now is his 57 year old body has just worn out. He's mistreated himself for a very long time and now it's time to pay the piper and make some huge changes in his lifestyle....or else.

Re: Why Tim T's catch rate has gone down

I always called my Father a "Controlled Alcoholic". He drove a semi all his adult life for a living. NEVER got a DUI or even a speeding ticket for that matter. But come Beer :30 and he had a 15 pack of Strohs beer after parking his semi for the day on Nandino Blvd for the drive home to Winchester. He would have 5-6 of them gone by the time he hit the door and all 15 would be gone by the time he went to bed. Come the weekend and it was a 1/5 of Ancient Age and who knows how many beers every weekend. But come Monday morning and he was sober and off for another week. He drank like a fish when he was not driving a semi and I know it takes an hour an ounce for alcohol to get out of your system but was sober when he left for work every morning.
