I have a dumb question.....where are spawning flats on Barren. The only flats that I see are mud/clay bottoms. Don't the fish need a nice hard bottom such as pea gravel/sandy bottom to spawn on?

Fan out the silt down to the gravel. Lots of spawning flats on Barren that are primarily gravel.

Add in a stump or log or brushpile and so much the better. I know of a great sloping flat that leads to a drop of about three feet. The drop is no more than about 200 yards long but it holds alot of fish. I am sure alot of you know where I am talking about.
