How you can be the only McDonald's All American from the state of Kentucky, but you don't win Mr. Basketball? The Kentucky Mr. Basketball award is becoming a joke and the Lions Foundation refusues to reveal the voting, just another thing that makes you go Hhmm. This award lost its luster for me when Josh Carrier was the sixth best senior player I saw that year, bit won the award.

The same way a fella does not win Big East Player of the Year but is First Team All American, while the fella that does win Big East Player of the Year is not on any All American Team. These idiots that vote on this stuff don't have a clue or the voting takes place a long time before the season ends. I will never figure it out. Plus all these technicalities, where a Freshman can either be put in the running for SEC Player of the Year or Freshman of the Year but not both. Jones wins Freshman of the Year in the SEC and he is barely the 2nd best Freshman on HIS OWN TEAM. Knight does not get any award in the SEC because UK had to pick and they submitted him for Player of the Year. We know all the Conference Players of the Year and Freshmen of the Year long before the Conference tourneys are played and we already know the All American team before the NCAA Tourney is finished. If Kimba Walker is not the Player of the Year in the Big East then I will put my foot behind my head around to the other side and **** my own big toe after mowing grass all day in 100 degree heat wearing my winter boots and wool socks. The Heisman Trophy is given out before all the Bowls are completed is another example. Vince Young from Texas would have probably won the Heisman or at least been a closer second the year he single handed beat USC in their Bowl game but it was given to Reggie Bush a few weeks earlier.

I thought a SEASON was until the SEASON was over. Jimmer Fredette is the National Player of the Year while his team is back in Utah but Kimba's team could still win the trophy? Voting over Kimba could score 50 points in the next two games walk away with the National Title but is not the Big East Player of the Year or the National Player of the Year, WRONG!!!

I agree wholeheartedly Elnut, on Kemba, but the Mr. Basketball award is given out after the Sweet 16 so it is a bit different. I am not trying to take away from Anthony Hickey, he is a very good player. His team won the Sweet 16 and he was the MVP of the tournament but the bottom line is that Chane Behanan is head and shoulders above him. I would have also rated Davante Parker ahead of Hickey as well.

It still is not as bad as the Josh Carrier fiasco from a few years back.

I don't remember the High School year but do remember that Josh Carrier signed with UK the same year Chuck Hayes and Rashaad Carruth. Chuck became one of my ALL TIME favorite Wildcats due to his hustle and desire. I thought Rashaad Carruth was going to be outstanding after that one game when he lit up DUKE. Josh Carrier and Jon Hood are two of the worst Mr. Basketballs that ever signed with UK. I don't follow High School basketball, way too old and way too removed, but for Josh and Jon to win the titles tells me there was not much talent in the years they won Mr. Basketball.

Can't forget about Brandon Stockton who stayed with us at the Sweet 16 my senior year....if his game was as tall as his ego, UK wouldn't have lost a game during his tenure

Larry O'Bannon - Male, Carlos Hurt - Moore, Patrick Sparks - Muhlenberg North, Adam Chiles - Ballard, Brandon Bender - Ballard and Coric Riggs - Fairdale.

Imo opinion it should have gone to Larry O'Bannon or Patrick Sparks. I give the edge to O'Bannon because of his consitency and his teams success, but if Sparks won I would have been okay with that. Hurt had the most talent, but only played here his senior year.

I remember that game well. I was just learning the FNF and had left Frankfort at 3am to go to Dale Hollow. I set the tv to record the game so to watch that night when I got back. I broke ice off the boat cover leaving Frankfort, put in before sunup at Hendricks Creek, fished all Day long to where I could barely see how to get back to the ramp to take out. Never got a bite, never got a sniff, don't think a fish swam 50 yards from my FNF jig. Drove all the way back to Frankfort madder than a wet hornet trying to figure out what I did wrong, put the cover on the boat, went inside and watched the game. Got in the bed around midnight and told my wife that I was going back and was not going to give up on this FNF fishing. She said when and I said, in the morning. She said I was nuts but 2am and I was up and loading the boat, breaking ice off the cover again, down to Dale Hollow fished until Dark and never got a bit, never got a sniff don't think a fish swam 100 yards within my FNF jig. Loader her on the trailer and back to Frankfort I came. 560 miles in the truck, daylight to dark fishing for 2 straight days, and I caught the same amount as if I was fishing in my bathtub at the house. That was the last time that I ever skunked on Dale Hollow. I am glad that I stuck with the FNF fishing because it is my favorite technique to catch Smallmouth.

Actually he took three steps, that call was the biggest joke I've ever seen in ANY GAME EVER. That's ok though becuase that was in 2005 and the Cards went to the Four that year while Sparks watched it on television, sorry I just had to.....
