I don't know. I have always used it. I just eat the cost because I figure it is cheaper in the long run than having someone repair the boat. You should check out bassboatcentral.com those guys are pretty sharp over there.

it was recommended to use ring free in my boat d/t it "loading up". It would run perfect. until I stopped to fish, and then it may not take off when started again. it would start up fine and idle but when in gear and trying to take off it would die, like it was flooded or something.
anyway after putting the ring free in and running for 2 days it was perfect. so my question is, is seafoam or any other thing equal to it because that stuff is high.

Not familiar with Sea Foam. I do know that Ring Free is a decarbonizer (?) and I know it is expensive but I wouldn't run my Yamaha without it. Some cost up front is better than major motor problems. Mercury recommends to run Quick Kleen in their motors. Hope this helps. JASON
O.k. sold on it. plus it only adds 15 cents a gallon to my already 43 cents a gallon for oil. a total of 58 cents added to 3.75 gallon of gas. $4.28 a gallon and rising.
I use Seafoam in my Yamaha, and its on sale. I think it was Advance auto for $6.99 hope this helps...
For me I kind of think it's best to stick with the sea foam...it's good for anything, marine or auto either one....every now and then I'll put a can in both mine and my wife's Chevy's...Guys at the counter always tell me the same thing, Sea Foam is the strongest stuff on the market. Plus using only one product lessens the amount of various types of stuff sitting on the shelf in the garage. Also I'm not sure every parts house sells Yamaha Ring Free....do they?

How do you mix the Sea Foam?
