Who to root for, what to watch, UCONN/BUTLER

UCONN - because I am rooting for the team that beat UK and some stupid sense of satisfaction in knowing we were knocked out by the eventual champ

Butler - because it would be a really good story and Stevens is one hell of a coach

    UCONN

    BUTLER

    UCONN

    BUTLER

    UCONN

    BUTLER

who really cares because truth be told about it, there is nobody on here that has rooted for Butler or UCONN specifically all year long so bring on WWE. Wrestling on at 9pm with Wrestlemania 27 results, which was pretty lame for the amount it cost and the main event match between the Miz and John Cena was one of the worst in the history of Sports Entertainment.

I am not rooting for anyone, just looking forward to watching a good game. In a sense this has great story lines either way. kemba Walker, perhaps the top college player in the country leading his team to a title, or small team Butler, not only making it for a second straight title game, but actually bringing home the hardware.

Good story either way, who knows, tonight could be the third title for 100-year-old "Roy" Calhoun or the first title for 15-year-old Brad Stevens.

I don't plan on watching the game but I guess if I have to pick a side it would be Butler for the shear fact that I really like Brad Stevens. The game against Pitt and that crazy ending, the game against Florida and then VCU, the first words out of his mouth in EVERY post game interview was complimenting and giving condolences to the other team. Real class act and throw in the fact that I can't stand "Roy". To me he is as crooked as they come and think his program is as dirty or dirtier than all the rest. I will take Butler by 6. The real question is will Brad get carded when he goes to the local tavern to get a beer in celebration afterwords?

Pulling for Butler..two years straight these kids and Coach have done what few others can claim. They are my pick for that reason alone. Excellence!

UCONN. Then maybe people believe all the hype the Big Eaast got all year. They were one of the lower teams in our conference and that makes us all look good since we beat on each other all year and basically blew it in the real tournament. For UCONN to win the biggest tournament of any conference and then win the National Championship it woud be great for Big East so Barkley and SEC fans can't shut up a bit too.

GO BUTLER, for no other reason than everything above. They may have been one of the lower teams in the conference but at the end of the season there was none playing better and that proved out in the NCAA Big Dance. Funny how some said that one game between UK and UCONN could not settle the arguement of the better conference but NOW that UCONN has made it to the national title game UCONN winning the title makes "all the teams look good in the Big East". If one game can't settle a conference arguement then how can one team's accomplishment make all the other teams in the conference look good after the showing the "other" 10 teams had collectively in the tournament? Seems to be a whole lot of Big East fans wanting to step out of the shadows to show support for their conference and UCONN that played the part of the invisible man BEFORE the UK and UCONN game. Anybody can crawl out of the woodwork to root for a team or conference AFTER the game is played.

Yes, I admit the Big East is the better conference just like I said I would do BEFORE the game was played. But I also admit that it was VERY LAME that Tim T was pretty much the only one that supported a Big East team all year long that came the closest to accepting my challenge. Pretty LAME that it took a couple of Indiana fans to step up for the absent Big East fans and their testicular ability. Pretty LAME that the above clearly states that they want UCONN to win so they can ride the coat tails AFTER the fact but had no clue what a coat tail was BEFORE the game with UK. But what should I expect. The Big East conference is the best but the support that was shown by the Big East fans of that conference towards UCONN before the Kentucky on this board either said one of two things: they were embarrassed by the CONFERENCE results against open competition in the NCAA tourney or they were flat out scared of a UK team that they knew they could not beat. Take your pick

AGAIN WOODY, I did not get caught up in that STUPID argument becuse it';s just that STUPID. My team is better than your team because.................we beat this guy and that team and that makes us king. Face it that is not a good argument and there is no reason to debate it with you and Mills because you will get on here and post a thread as long as War and Peace and at the end I still don't get it.

Here you go, Louisville beat Butler like an unwanted step kid, they also beat UConn two out of three times and once by 13 points, and once in their gym. This must make Louisville the REAL National champion, that's how stupid that argument sounds when you post it. The Sec was no where NEAR the conference as the Big East this year and EVERYBODY in the know in college basketball agrees. I'm done with this argument other than to say I did not engage in all that dribble because it made NO SENSE TO.

War and Peace the Cliff note version.

UK beat Louisville like an unwanted step kid on their own home floor, UK is what then??

Big East puts 11 teams in tourney. 7 of 10 that are knocked out are FAVORED to win the game.

Big East has 5 teams knocked out by double digit seeds

Last year Big East is the BEST, this year Big East is the BEST......

19 total bids combined last year and this year

21 TOTAL wins by 19 such bids, 8-8 last year 13-10 this year

West Virginia 4 wins last year and UCONN 6 wins this year accounted for 10 of the 21 wins

11 wins by the other 17 bids

If the Big East was the best conference last year and this, it surely was not by the margin that many argued here for when the chips were down in the NCAA, except WVA and UCONN, they folded like a tent.
