Re: Is "YUM" bait as good as its made out to be?

Get along to your local Wal-Mart and find out! Many (around Lexington, at least) have some packages of YUM! on sale for $2 a pack.

Yum is a very distant from Berkley Powerbait, Zoom, and Net Bait in that order...jus my opinion.

I just recently, like 2-3 weeks ago, started fishing with some YUM Dingers. They are pretty good lures. They catch the fish. I went with YUM because it was cheaper than Yamamoto.

I use Yum ribbontails and wooly bugs. The ribbontail produces better for me than a culprit or powerworm, and teh wooly bug is the best RI beaver knockoff i have found. In addition, the Yum Dinger is second only to a Yamasenko for stick baits, and are cheaper. I find myself with more Yum packages every year. Also, their craw papi is a killer jig trailer.

Same here, but did that about 2 or 3 years ago. Normally $3 for a pack of Dingers.
The YUM Dinger and crawbugs are the only two that I like of the YUM brand. The worms and lizards seem a lot more rigid than I like. For those I go with Zoom. For jig trailers, NetBait or SK Rage Tail are hard to beat.

If you like Senko worms (I know they don't like you to refer to them as worms) Bass Pro has a knock off that is okay. It is the same price but the last time I bought them you got twice as many.

I think Yum Dingers would work as well; but I do like Senkos.

Senkos usually go on sale sometime at Dicks; I stock up on them then.

Dave, i went to wal-mart yesterday and today both and bought some of the YUM on sale for 2 dollars, actually about 12 packages since it was so cheap, thats why i was wondering if its really as good as some of the others like ZOOM that i know is a great company of plastic lures.

I use Berkley and Net Baits mostly, but have some Yum baits that produce fish. And for $2 a pack, that's a deal. May have to make a Wally-world trip this week and stock up.

Any bait is great if you have confidence in it. I you don't beleive in the bait you are throwing you are wasting your time!!
