Dennis "The Worm" Rodman in the Hall of Fame???

I don't know about this one. When players like Artis Gilmore and Jo Jo White are not in the Hall of Fame and The Worm is elected???? I know he was the best rebounder in the game for several years and has 4 or 5 championship rings but I don't think he is a hall of famer. If it is based on rings and such then I think Robert Horry has 7 rings and he actually impacted games on his championship teams. I remember reading somewhere that there are 9 players with 7 or more championship rings and 8 of these players were teammates of Bill Russell, the only one that was not is Robert Horry. I just don't see Rodman a Hall of Famer before Artis Gilmore and Jo Jo White of a previous era or Robert Horry of his own era.

I think the Worm was deserving because he is one of the best rebounders to ever play. Btw Elwood, Artis got in with this class as well!

I guess I did not read far enough or missed Gilmore getting in. I believe Rodman should have gotten in on his "on the court merit" but to me the Hall of Fame is not only how you played but how well you carried yourself and how well you showed respect for the game. I am just not sure if the on the court stuff overshadowed the off the court antics. I am not saying I am 100% against him getting in just 51/49 or 49/51. It just does not feel right

LOL I am not too concerned anymore with the off the field of play stuff. I think it gets a little to crazy at times. Pete Rose is banned from the H.O.F. but Ty Cobb, who may be one of the worst human beings to walk the planet is in. I understand what you are saying though!

I'm in agreement with him getting in. He was awesome I'm Detroit and in Chicago. He got goofy and weird but he dominated and his antics were great to watch.

In my opinion to be honored with Hall of Fame status I think you need to be more than great at the sport you should be a decent human being. As far as Tim T argument with Pete Rose his escapades were connected to the sport he played. Rodman’s were not.
    I vote no to both.

I think he deserves to be in. He led the league in rebounding for many years and was an integral part of all those championships on various teams.

I don't think off-the-court antics should have much to do with whether someone gets in or not. There are tons of athletes in various Halls of Fame that were just terrible human beings.

He's deserving to be in. It was also great to see Artis finally make it. Remember how he could put a quarter on top of the back board and jump up and get it.

Kentucky Colonels were awesome. Artis Gilmore, Louie Dampier which lives here in Oldham County with me, we actually see him fairly often. Also Dan Issel, dang he was great. Hubie Brown was as good a coach to EVER coach a game at any level.
