    Sorry I didn't explain myself well in the beginning.
    You should not see any effect in the performance, well i take that back, from a technical standpoint you COULD see more interference from the trolling motor since insulation to the wire has been comprimised. Just re-insulate the wire like i mentioned earlier if you see or notice any interference. More than likely you will not have interference, but if it were mine i would heat shrink it anyway, just to have the protection there incase rocks get into the same place on the wire again. hope this helps.

    You will have to get a new transducer if it stopped working after cutting the wire. Period. You cannot repair it.
