In all seriousness folks....what exactly does a government shut down mean? Does anyone know when we had the government shut done previously? My dad says it has but it was only for a couple of days, although he can't remember exactly when it ocurred, of course at the age of 85 it's a wonder he still remembers anything.
So what does a shut down mean...does it mean the local county clerks offices will shut down, does it mean the mail delivery will stop, does it mean my parents will no longer get a social security check in the mail? What does it mean?
I also wonder if the folks who work for the government are sweating bullets this week or if they're not paying much attention to it, thinking like they always do, which is they work for the government so their job is secure?
Kind of seems to me the citizens of this country aren't paying much attention to it....or at least they're not paying as much attention to it as I think they should be.
This is a big deal folks....ain't it?

Hell ,we can always borrow more cash from China. Isn't it amazing we get money from a communist country to give away to other countries to keep communism from taking over. Or give to the "good guys" to fight the "bad guys" which are being funded by the Chinese. I am sure its not this simple but isn't it the same end result?

In my opinion....if the government would actually do something like figure out who/what is essential and who/what is not, then they might not be looking at a possible shut down this week.

Man ain't that the TRUTH!!! Thats the problem both sides have been looking out for themselves way too long and not being good stewards of our money. We the tax payers are taken for granted and it's really time someone leads this ship instead of just steers the ship in the direction their party wants. Everyone is trying to blame the tea party but the way I see it that is what we elected them to do. We sent them there to stop all this huge spending and they are doing what they should. They are keeping the Republicans from caving in and kicking the can down the road. Our children deserve us getting our house in order so they can live the American dream like I have. We made this country sick we need to take the medicine now so our children won't have to.

Watched Harry Reid get on the Tea Party in an interview with NBC this morning. The Tea party will be attacked by the Libs because they are scared of them.
As far as this idea that we made the country sick...I don't buy it. The politics of greed did it not me. They should fix it by cutting most if not ALL foreign aid (I'm sorry I don't care about the starving pigmies in new guinea) untill we get our country right. We give millions and millions to other countries while we have worse living conditions in parts of our country. Look in the hills of Kentucky, Tenn, Alabama and you will find poor, hungry and uneducated folks. Heck look in any city and you will find that.
Fix our system first it's broke! Then worry about other countries.
Don't raise my taxes to fix anything. Cut spending, get the illegals to pay taxes, fix the dang border, drill our own oil, get alternative fuels going and God willing get us a leader!!!
