so ive been invited to camp with a buddy at big goat island. we are heading out of holly creek. i havent decided on when im going down but i guess my window of fishing would be from friday afternooish - monday afternoonish. ive never fished for just smallmouth. any help would be appricated? any big difference between lures and presentations between the LM and SM.
im guessing spawn is happing there about now?
i would honestly pick a point (work it) and then work my way back to some secondary points then hit the back of the creek. if i catch a fish on any of thouse spots I will try to find more like it?
i always hear SM like curent and deeper water? (so are backs of creeks a waist of time?)
i would throw a jerk bait- spinnerbait- jig- 5-8ft crank - worm or(maybe try a tube heard its better for the SM - shaky head?
Also im really used to flipin a jig at the bank -So from alot of stuff im researching they are saying SM are deeper. do i need to be like 100 feet off the bank and stuff like that (?fishing structure?) making long cast?
