I could see maybe a smaller university, but it would be hard to find a school with an organized team that falls under the less prestigious category. (Only kidding, of course).

I agree, I think to even be considered as a coach of a major University, you should be a proven HEAD coach somewhere. Not always a d2 school, but maybe even a d1 school where basketball is not a top priority, or a nationally ranked, or nationally respected program.

    Re: louisville future coach

Since Pitino and Billy D. are so close, why would Billy come out and say this in the first place if it were not true. I don't think he just threw it out to the public, just to stir the pot.

Also it was said that Little Pitino was given the Assocociate Head coaching position at U of L, which is directly under Big Pitino...Basically next in line to be the Top Dog of coaching at U of L .....

Of course Jurich has to squash any rumors about the Head coach in waiting ( referring to Little Pitino ). It's his job to pick the next coach at U of L, not Big Pitino's job.

But truth be told, it's been already decided in the (Big Picture) that Little Pitino will become the next coach, when Ricky P. leaves..... Little Pitino will most likely ask Big Pitino to be an assit. coach and more or less just walk around the practice facilities and be more of a media figure for the school. Big recruiting advantage just to tell the recruits that Ricky Pitino is still at least a assit. coach at U of L.....

Far be it for me to introduce facts into this delusional conspiracy-theory-presented-as-fact, but here is Donovan's actual statement: "Richard's situation, for him to be the associate head coach and possibly the head coach at Louisville, is an incredible opportunity."

All Donovan was saying was, Richard would likely be considered for the head coaching position once Rick decided to leave.

It will never happen. This whole thing is a non-issue. Jurich would be insane to set himself up for failure by succeeding Rick with Richard. And the idea that Rick Pitino would "more or less walk around the practice facilities" as a "media figure" for the school is hilarious.

MsgMills has OFFICIALLY lost his mind. "Truth be told about it, it's already been decided". All this time I thought it was DieHard Louisville supporters that were making the decisions when all this time it has been an Indiana fan that Jurich has been calling for advice. There is ABSOLUTELY no way in Cardinal land that U of L goes from a national championship coach in Crum to another national championship coach in Pitino to an untested commodity in Ricky Jr. Maybe they will get Calipari to leave UK to be the head coach and Bobby Knight could be his assistant

You guys should listen to Mills on this one, after all the best coach in the world and his favorite (Big Knight) pulled off this very thing with his on son (Little Knight) not so long ago.

Be careful though because Little Knight got canned after three years and was replaced with Billy Gillispie. Talk about embarrassing, I mean you come from the Knight pedigree of coaching and you get replaced with Gillispie. I bet Big Knight went all Neil Reid on him when he got home after that.

Guess Little Knight can get back to the good old days of holding Big Knights hand and screaming at everyone to stop being mean to his daddy.

I trust Mills on this one.
