Fish Fishburns show is goofy but its still better than Bill Dance. At least it has some entertainment value Bill Dances show has no value. The only top notch bass fishing show on these days that I have seen is THE BASS PROS. They have a new season out every spring and their new season finished like a month ago, I buy the DVD every winter. I watch some other shows but nothings as good. Classic Patterns is probably the best ever and Bass Edge was pretty good when it was on. Ikes show is OK entertainment but not much good info in it. Bill Dance, Roland Martin and Hank Parker are a joke, their shows are made for people who watch shows and never or rarely fish. Shaw Grigsby has a solid show at least. Fishing University is OK but really not must see tv. The Strike King show is just a half hour infomercial mostly on private lakes. North American Fishing is OK at times when they bass fish. Fishermans Headquarters is good when its on bass fishing. Scott Martins Challenge, Bass Battles, UMF and Brauer Bass Battles are all good. In-fisherman is always good.
Go figure Bill Dance, Hank Parker and Roland Martin can peddle their show for decades and the best old shows like Orlando Wilson and Bass University get cancelled. A goofy character who teaches you the very basics and shamelessly peddles products on a private lake seems to be prefered over a show that has in depth information on a public lake. Mostly because there are more armchair anglers than hardcore bass fisherman.
I will agree that Fish is a good emcee. I thought he did a great job with B.A.S.S.
I just requested the Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network (WFN)...
I guess everybody is different, I actually still like Bill Dance. I know everybody talks about him fishing private lakes and all, but at least the show is somewhat informative (and those bloopers crack me up).
