Wow $2500! That is big money for sure I'll prolly end up with something about half that cost (maybe less) for the whole system.

    I have a Panasonic home-theater-in-a-box deal...

It has a receiver (also DVD changer), subwoofer, center-channel, two wired front speakers, and two wireless rear speakers. I have them mounted on the wall behind my couch. I believe that I paid $499 for the setup when I bought my Panasonic TV a year or so ago. It's nothing high-end, but it sounds great to me.

AND, my wife hates the two speakers on the wall. LOL Ah well...

Ha, ha yeah I wasn't serious about you buying that beast but if you want a big bang for the bucks sub Edesignaudio makes them as do some other internet direct (ID) subwoofer companies. I have last years Edesignaudio A2 model 10" subwoofer in a smallish bedroom setup and that thing pounds like crazy if you want it to.

The link I posted to Avsforums has lots of info on other ID and mainstream sub companies that you also couldn't go wrong with.

If you don't mind ordering from the net you can usually save yourself a lot of $$$$$ but of course if something goes wrong with a speaker, receiver....... it is a little more work to get it resolved.

One place I like to watch for deals on just about everything is http://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 and as a matter of fact I just saw a nice deal on there for some Energy speakers that unforuntely ends tomorrow.

Also if you need any help, info, advise...... then just ask, I'm no expert but in case you can't tell I really like this stuff and try to keep somewhat up to date with it.

Hey DJD you still in the market for a surround sound system?

Saw this deal and thought I'd share it with you.

Really good speakers and receiver in this package, just need to add a subwoofer for and you would be set. This package would work very well in a medium to largeish room.

Plus it comes with a Panasonic Blu-ray player, heck if you don't need the Blu-ray player you could always sell it or give it as a gift.

Hey man thanks for the heads up. I have not purchased anything yet. My recent vacation zapped some of my funds so I'm gonna wait a little. I will be on the hunt for a good deal soon!
