Lol that's funny... this made me think of a few things with all grocery stores that can waste your money if not careful.
1) Check strawberries closely!! They can have white fuzz on some of them that are hidden...yuck!
2) Check sell by dates on bread and look for mold anyway.
3) Check meat that is a bargain sell. Usually sell by date is that day or one past and always look to see if it's turned.
4) Check sell by dates on milk...pick from the back of the rack they are the newest and will last longer in the fridge.
This has happened to me in the past and most recent was the bread. Actually ate half a sandwhich and realized that it wasn't grape jelly bleeding through the bread it was mold...Gag!![]()
Well, DJ, much as you and I disagree about some stuff, it seems we shop alike! I always check the "used meat" section too. Some of the stuff's nasty, but sometimes you find some killer deals. And another thing about shopping for berries of any kind that come in clamshell containers is that sometimes the produce clerks go through and pick out the fuzzy ones, and sometimes they'll move berries from one container to another. Which means that the containers aren't always equally full, so look for the fuller ones!
