    catfish tornado's and green skies..

I went down to rough river spill way yesterday to try my luck and I saw a few storms move by as I was facing north east well about 4:30 I saw this black cloud so I went to the car turn the radio on and there was storms tornado's and all the good stuff so I went back up there told rob we need to leave now man well by this time I could see the wall cloud. I told him I was headed home but by the time I got to HWY 259 and look north all I could see was wall cloud and green sky so I took off south and thought well if most of it is north I will duck under it knowing that being at the southern end of the storm was bad but going north was worse so I headed to Leitchfield and when I got passed McDaniel I could see what look like a small tornado on the ground then the transformers started popping I lost the sight of it all and kept driving toward Leitchfield. By the time I got about 2 miles from there they posted warnings for Leitchfield falls of rough caneyville so I said well might as well go back to robs place and wait it out he was only 3 miles from me. The worst of the storm was north and south of his house he didn't get any real bad winds or hail from it. I didn't bring my camera or cell phone so I could not take pics or call home but when I got back to meade county it had hit pretty hard there.. Did any one get any pics of that storm as it moved through axtel man it looked rough. No pun intended. Oh the fishing was lousy yesterday I didn't catch anything..

Did you have any luck Rich? I did see some trucks with boat trailers @ everliegh when I went by , I think a couple of them was under some water.

Negative...it was a WASH OUT!!! River came up probably 6ft in the few hours I was there. That guy in the van on the ramp started off high and dry until the river came up...then his tires were under water, lmao! Oh well....

Glad you made it out of there safe.

Any of y'all remember when the walleye used to make their runs up the river to spillway? Then it seemed like they disappeared and then the hybrids were there and coming into spillway. I caught a 6-7 pound walleye there back in the '70's one night on a Rapala minnow. Then in the '90's I caught a 3-5 pound hybrids on nearly every cast using a Pop 'R or Chug Bug for the first two hours or so early one morning in August. What a blast that was!

LOL Yah that's Rob he just made that contraption and for all the measuring and cutting even using a framing square it is crocked. We never would let him use many power tools by himself..
