Rambling is a classic sign of Nofishitus.
Flooding, to your work, to your truck, back to flooding. lol
On a serious note, its not positive. the AFD from PAH anticipates another 4-8 inches of rain.

Jeese louise, This is getting old. My back yard is a river and the road to Bluegrass may be flooded by now.
I talked to Paul the other day and he told me that the water was over Boonville NewHarmony Road the other day, but had gone back down.
I drove up I-164 yesterday and looked to the East and saw that Pigeon Creek, Bluegrass Creek and the surrounding farm land was partially flooded in the low lying areas.
I can remember back in 1997 when those fields were all flooded from the water backing up and out of Bluegrass Creek and Pigeon Creek.
I couldn't get to work that year due to the flood waters. I had to go a different route to reach the office and even then that office was being threated by flooding.
We were about ready to start sandbagging operations to protect the storage buildings and the office which was along and by Pigeon Creek in Northern Vanderburgh County near the Warrick County line.
I should get out and take some pictures of all this and save it for later use. If it stops raining for a little while I will get the camera and head out to document all this flooding.
I think I finally got my truck running much better. I found a little crack in one of the vaccum hoses that was making it hard to start the motor. I replaced that hose and now the truck runs much better. It's even idling down to 800 rpm which it never did in the past. It's funny how such a little thing can make the engine stop running.
If it stops raining I may take the boat in to get it fixed soon. I'll need a boat to get around if it does not stop raining someday.
Perhaps I can go fishing in the river in my back yard.![]()

Since we are on topic, here is SW Indiana's AFD
And SE Indiana.DISCUSSION...
UNFORTUNATELY...MORE OF THE SAME...POSSIBLY EVEN WORSE AS FAR AS
THE SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL IS CONCERNED THIS AFTERNOON INTO
TONIGHT. SFC LOW...NEGATIVELY TILTED MID LVL TROF WILL EJECT NE
THROUGH THE MID/UPPER MS RIVER VALLEY TONIGHT...AND DRAG COLD
FRONT EAST WITH IT. BEST HEAVY RAIN/STORM CHANCES WILL LIKELY COME
ALONG THE COLD FRONT MOVING TO NR THE MS RIVER BY MIDNIGHT.
UNFORTUNATELY...THIS FRONT WILL LIKELY STALL OUT ALONG THE OHIO
RIVER VALLEY AGAIN IN THE TUE/WED TIME FRAME AS ANOTHER IN A
SERIES OF MID LVL TROFS SWINGS INTO THE REGION. RICH/DEEP MOISTURE
FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL ALSO CONTINUE TO BE DRAWN NORTH INTO
THESE SYSTEMS...WITH PW VALUES UP OVER 1.5 INCHES MUCH OF THE TIME.
ALL IN ALL...EVEN THOUGH THERE MAY BE SOME DRY BREAKS IN
PRECIP...WE HAVE DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND EXTEND THE FLASH FLOOD
WATCH RIGHT THROUGH THE DAY WEDNESDAY...UNTIL WE FINALLY DRY OUT
THU/FRI AS HIGH PRESSURE AND WNW MID LVL FLOW DRIVE THE FRONT WELL
TO OUR EAST. THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR AN ADDITIONAL 4 TO 8 INCHES
IN THE TODAY THROUGH WED TIME FRAME.
NEEDLESS TO SAY....EXTENSIVE FLASH FLOODING/MAJOR TO HISTORICAL
RIVER FLOODING AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS AND EVEN A FEW TORNADOES COULD MAKE FOR A VERY DANGEROUS
SCENARIO THIS WEEK. RIGHT NOW...PEAK TIME FRAMES LOOK TO BE LATER
TODAY/TONIGHT AND THEN AGAIN TUE NIGHT INTO WED.
...FORECAST UPDATE...
HAVE UPDATED THE PRODUCTS THIS MORNING TO INCREASE CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO CATEGORICAL ALONG AND WEST OF I 65.
OPERATIONAL MODELS GENERALLY AGREE WITH SPC WRF IN BRINGING LINE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE AREA THROUGH THIS MORNING. THE
WAY THE LINE IS ORIENTED ALONG WITH STORM MOTION WILL CREATE SOME
TRAINING ACROSS OUR WESTERN COUNTIES WITH AN ADDITIONAL HALF AN INCH
TO INCH OF RAIN EXPECTED. WILL HAVE TO MONITOR FOR POSSIBLE FLASH
FLOOD WARNINGS SHOULD RAINFALL AMOUNTS APPROACH AN INCH OR SO.
LOWERED HIGH TEMPERATURES JUST A BIT FOR THIS AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY
IN THE NORTHERN TWO THIRDS OF THE FORECAST AREA. UPDATED PRODUCTS
ALREADY OUT.
.SHORT TERM (TODAY AND TONIGHT)...
...FLOODING ISSUES WILL CONTINUE TODAY AND TONIGHT...
TODAY WE WILL START TO SEE A SHIFT IN THE PATTERN A BIT AS A LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM SITUATED CURRENTLY OVER THE TEXAS PANHANDLE TRACKS
QUICKLY NORTHEAST. THIS LOW WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL ILLINOIS THIS
EVENING AND UP INTO NORTHERN ILLINOIS BY TOMORROW MORNING. FOR TODAY
THIS SHOULD SHIFT THE STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY SLOWLY TO THE NORTH
AS A WARM FRONT.
ANOTHER LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IS SLOWLY MOVING IN
FROM THE WEST THIS MORNING...WITH SCATTERED STORMS OUT AHEAD OF IT.
WITH THE FRONT LIFTING NORTH THE HIGHEST RAINFALL TOTALS TODAY LOOK
TO BE ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA. HOWEVER...THE GFS AND THE SPC WRF
SHOW STORMS FORMING AND TRACKING ACROSS MUCH OF THE FORECAST AREA.
IF ANY STORMS BEGIN TRAINING FLOODING PROBLEMS ACROSS CENTRAL
KENTUCKY WILL BE AGGRAVATED. GROUNDS ARE ALREADY SATURATED ACROSS
MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA...EXCEPT ACROSS OUR FAR SOUTHEAST...AND
AREAL FLOOD WARNINGS ARE ONGOING. THEREFORE WITH THE WIDESPREAD
RAINFALL EXPECTED ALONG AND NORTH OF THE OHIO RIVER AND THE
POSSIBILITY OF TRAINING STORMS SOUTH OF THIS AREA WILL KEEP THE
FLASH FLOOD WATCH OUT. AS TO RAINFALL TOTALS...ALONG AND NORTH OF
THE OHIO RIVER ANOTHER ONE TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN ARE
EXPECTED TODAY AND TONIGHT.
THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY FOR A DRY PERIOD ACROSS THE REGION THIS
EVENING AS THE WARM FRONT LIFTS MUCH FURTHER TO THE NORTH. A LINE OF
STORMS WILL THEN DEVELOP LATE AND MOVE IN FROM THE WEST AS THE COLD
FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKS EAST OVERNIGHT.
THESE STORMS MAY BE STRONG TO SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE
HAIL.
WINDS TODAY WILL BECOME GUSTY OUT OF THE SOUTH BY MIDDAY. THIS WILL
BRING WARMER TEMPERATURES TO THE REGION. HOWEVER HIGHS TODAY WILL BE
HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON HOW WIDESPREAD THE RAIN IS AND IF CLOUDS BREAK
UP AT ALL DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
.LONG TERM (TUESDAY - SUNDAY)...
...POTENTIAL FOR VERY HEAVY RAIN MID WEEK...
AT 12Z TUESDAY MORNING LOW PRESSURE WILL BE CENTERED OVER NORTHERN
ILLINOIS WITH A COLD FRONT REACHING SOUTHWEST INTO TEXAS. DURING THE
DAY THE LOW WILL ONLY DRIFT NORTHWARD INTO WISCONSIN AND NEW LOW
PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER TEXAS. THIS WILL KEEP THE COLD FRONT
NEARLY STATIONARY WITH WAVES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING
ALONG AND AHEAD OF IT. THE TEXAS LOW WILL ADVANCE TO ARKANSAS BY
WEDNESDAY MORNING WITH THE WISCONSIN LOW MOVING VERY LITTLE OTHER
THAN POSSIBLY A SLIGHT SSE DRIFT. THE STUBBORN STORM SYSTEM WILL
THEN GET A SHOVE TO THE EAST AS A STRONG VORT MAX DIVES INTO THE
UPPER TROF OVER THE PLAINS. THE FRONT SHOULD PUSH EAST ACROSS
SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY OVER THE COURSE OF THE DAY ON
WEDNESDAY AND BE ALONG OR PERHAPS JUST SLIGHTLY EAST OF THE I-75
CORRIDOR BY EVENING.
TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES WILL APPROACH
1.5 INCHES WHICH IS IN THE 99TH PERCENTILE CLIMATOLOGICALLY FOR THIS
TIME OF YEAR. THE K INDEX WILL REACH THE MID TO UPPER 30S AND HPC
HAS US IN A MODERATE RISK FOR EXCESSIVE RAINFALL. SIGNIFICANT UPWARD
ATMOSPHERIC MOTION IS IMPLIED WITH A 50-60KT LLJ POINTED RIGHT AT
KENTUCKY AND THE REGION SITTING BETWEEN AN UPPER JET STREAK TO OUR
NORTH OVER THE GREAT LAKES AND ANOTHER TO OUR WEST OVER THE RED
RIVER VALLEY. WIDESPREAD 24-HOUR RAINFALL AMOUNTS FROM TUESDAY
EVENING TO WEDNESDAY EVENING LOOK TO BE RATHER DIRE...IN THE 3 TO
LOCALLY 5 INCH RANGE WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS OVER KENTUCKY.
STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AS WELL. STORMS LEFT OVER FROM TONIGHT/S ACTIVITY WILL BE EXITING
TUESDAY MORNING. THE ATMOSPHERE IS EXPECTED TO RECOVER AND BECOME
MODERATELY UNSTABLE TUESDAY AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL STRONG TO SEVERE
STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT WITH THE STRONG JET DYNAMICS
AND AGAIN WEDNESDAY AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH.
A SIGNIFICANT BREAK FROM ALL THIS RAIN WILL FINALLY ARRIVE THURSDAY
EVENING AS HIGH PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST
U.S. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HOWEVER WET WEATHER MAY RETURN FOR THE
WEEKEND.
Sorry for all the rambing. LOL I think I have the nofishitis and the lakynukie disease both.
On the plus side it finally stopped raining and I think I see some sunshine out there.
Just got back from fishing Bluegrass pit - caught some small bass on plastics/Senkos and 1 nice crappie . Seen some fish moving around in the reeds by were you can banks fish from the parking lot , we tried and caught a few mostly small bass . Yesterday lost a huge female bass down the first big cove on the right , was fishing a crazy leg Chigger Craw and she swirled on it 5 ft. out from the bank . Played her for about 30 seconds till she rolled and spit the hook . Im so sick of this weather I finally said heck with it , loaded the boat , put on my rain suit and went . It seems like this year mother nature hates fishermen . If it isnt raining / storming the wind is howling 30mph . Jez !
I'd like to get my jon boat out once before summer hits. Wouldn't mind enjoying the lower temps.
Went to Bluegrass Pit on Wed and found the water up very high but people were still able to launch their boats at the South Concrete Launch ramp. Water is still rising and we had more rain last night so the parking lot may be under water by now. I may drive out there on I-164 and check on the flooding. I'll try to take some more pictures and perhaps process and pos them in here later on. It takes time to process them and reduce their size and put them on photobucket before I can link them to a post in here. So it may be a little while before I get them done.
I saw Paul fishing Bluegrass and he was catching the bass left and right. He caught one nice 1 to 2 lb LM bass right next to the launch ramp. Fish were congregated near the culvert entrance where the water goes under Boonville New Harmony Road from Bluegrass Pit to Loon Pit's North end.
Moving water attracts the fish as lots of food is being swept into this area.
Otter pit and Loon pit's launch ramps were both underwater Wed April 28th.
I wonder if the flooding is as bad up North in IN? No one is really talking about the flooding in other areas of the state except for Patoka Lake which I read was 8.4 ft above summer pool and rising still.
Well Friday the water levels seemed to drop but with all this rain today (Sunday) and the predicted rains for Mon and Tue the creeks will be rising again I guess.
I'll have to check out Bluegrass to see where the water levels are and report back.
Get your rain suits out and the chest waders as the creeks are going to rise again.
I got my Chest Waders out today and tried them on for the first time since I last went to the Smokey Mountains to fish for trout. That was way back in the early 1990's. Then I found that the sole of my wading boot was coming off. Got the Gorilla Glue out and tried to glue the sole back onto the boot. I forgot to wet the boot's surface and just applied the glue to sole and then clamped it back on. Gorilla Glue expands ( I forgot about that too) and it foamed up and out of the boat's foot area and dropped a big pile of foam onto my kitchen floor. I had set the boot up over the hot air register in the floor to help it cure faster. I was able to scrape up the foaming glob of glue off the vinyl floor before it setup. In two hours I should have the sole of my wading boot back on the shoe. I did clean the sole and the bottom of the boot with some 70% alcohol to make sure that the surfaces were clean and dry.
Anyone every tried to use gorilla glue without wetting one of the surfaces first? I have had problems with these soles staying on the boot every since I bought these wading shoes from Bass Pro Shop back around 1980. I only used them about 4 times total before the felt sole came off the rubber part of the sole. Now the rubber part is seperated from the Shoe part.
I went to Gander Mountain Friday and tried on a pair of the Size 8 boot foot waders by Frogg Toggs. I got my right foot stuck in the boot and could not get it off by myself. Had to have someone help me pull the boot off my foot to get free of those darn things. I was all set to buy some before that happened. Wore me out just trying to get my foot out of the darn things and I was about ready to pass out before I finally got some help. Even the guy who helped had a lot of trouble getting my foot free from the boot. Next time I'll put some socks on first. I was wearing sandles that day and didn't have any socks with me. My foot was sucked into that boot like I had applied Gorrilla Glue in there.
I'd like to be able to wade out along the ramp area to fish the shallow waters close to the shorelines. But If it keeps raining I may need them for my yard just to get into my truck.
Saturday was nice and dry and warm with little winds. I would have fished Saturday but the water was so high it made it hard to launch the boat at the only ramp avaible that day. Water was way up on the top part of Bluegrass's South Concrete Launch ramp so launching required the tow vehicle to get well into the water on the ramp before the boat would float off the trailer.
i fished yesterday(saturday) it was hard to find a place with all the winds... wasnt that bad loading and unloading. had to walk in about a foot and half of water.. lucky i wore my crocks... fish were biting on the ledges ... caught a few and called it quits.. too much wind... hopefully it wont be that bad next weekend... getting bored sitting at home all the time.
This afternoon (Sunday) the water level dropped a lot. Euler Road is dry now. Kansas road is dry. Boonville New Harmony Road is now clear of water. Stevenson Station Road is also high and dry as well as Old Boonville Hyw.
The dock at Bluegrass is still all under water and so is the concrete handicapped ramp at Loon. Otter's handicapped platform is also still under water.
It's raining now so who knows if the water levels will continue to fall or go back up. Have not see the River Level Report.
The Bluegrass Creek by I164 has fallen considerbly and the farmland is rising up out of the flood waters. The fields to the West of Euler road just West of Otter Pit are still flooded. Lots of debri is covering Euler road.
The South Launch ramp at Loon is still flooded making lauching hard. The North Parking lot of Loon is still flooded to some degree but it's was dropping.
Bird dog pit is open and fishable. So is the little pit at the end of Stevenson Station Rd near Boonville New Harmony Rd.
Monroe is 16 ft. high.Went to Bluegrass Pit on Wed and found the water up very high but people were still able to launch their boats at the South Concrete Launch ramp. Water is still rising and we had more rain last night so the parking lot may be under water by now. I may drive out there on I-164 and check on the flooding.
