I'm going to dust them in flour and add just a dash of pepper and fry them in real butter.

Don they taste like chicken. lol lol lol. Really it is hard to desribe, they can be somwhat firm, depends on their age, but they taste like mushrooms, they are so goo dthey are indescribeible, rol them in a little flour and corn meal add a dash of saly and pepper to taste. They are just plum good. I havent had any in a long time, used to be an old poplar grove next to my grandfathers farm and we loaded up on them in the spring, wish there was a way to grow them comerically but I have not heard of any way yet, one of natures many edible wonders.

Don look on craigs list to see but I do not think people sell them alot, you can check with any Amish in your community they might sell them, they will not be around for much longer, sad thing is about these little jewells is that they can be found in certain spots and for only a limited time, and if one was to sell them they would probally go around 20 dollars or more a pound, i think I heard someone say here at work someone got 45 dollars a pound for some. If you turkey hunt you are out during prime time for them, find some poplar trees and start looking.
