Very interesting article, I wonder what Big Oil's rebuttal will be? Gas prices around me were $3.95 last week, then actually went down to $3.89 ON THE WEEKEND when they usually go up, and I was reading this happy horse manure about "prices may have peaked," so I waited to fill up, thinking maybe they'd go down a little more at the beginning of the week. Go out today and it's $3.99. Some "plateau."

Heard on the news this morning that gas could hit $6.00 bucks a gallon by summer...

Way to go news channels..everytime you run a story about the possible gas costs increase, it seems like all the gas stations follow suit and raise their prices to match what the news channels predict will happen....

Do me a favor News channels, kepp your friggin mouths and stories of gas price increase's off the air waves.... Don't give the greedy oil punks more info and reasons to raise the cost of fuel all the time.

I guess I'm a minority on this but having the gubment more involved bothers me. Hand picking an industry and taxing their profits bothers me as well because who is next? The local guy who makes a huge profit? I don't have the answer but I do question why it takes something like this AGAIN!!! to get the gubment riled up? Why haven't they been laying some laws down since the last oil rape? Maybe enforcing ones on the books? What happened to all the Bush haters? Should we not have Obama haters? What has this administration done for us in relation to this since the Bush years? Obamy says he is looking into it...wonderful!

This crap was a problem during the Clinton years wasn't it? Pretty much been a problem for most potus's since Carter so why is it news now? The news should be look how the american people get raped by the gubment who have sold us out and won't let us build refineries or drill our own oil reserves at will. We just buy crude from countries that we defend and that cost american lives. Word is some of that money finds it's way into terrorist hands that fights us so we are funding our enemies, raping the american tax payers and being held hostage by tree hugging enviro groups on using our own resources.

This is crazy! So instead of dealing with the real problem we are gonna get a lynch mob after an industry that is (as far as I know) playing by the rules set forth by our wonderful leaders. Hmmmmm....

They have found three times the amount of oil than has came from the Alaska pipeline in the past 30 years. They apply for the permits to start drilling and the EPA of all people say's NO. There is a village of 250 people 70 miles away inland and they don't want them to smell the exhaust fumes from a Ice-breaker ship delivering supplys to the base.
We cannot use our own resources and rely on others and then b...h about the prices. Get the Goverment out of all this BS.

I agree drill here drill now, I totally am for that. But raping people financially is just that. When is enough enough and some form of human morality enter the picture? It should start at the top, but that is where the greed is at it's height and linked to dirty politicians.
