I recently installed an 80# fortrex on an 18.5' boat and it works very well. The mount design of the fotrex is excellent - very strong and it comes with lift assist. The built-in transducer is working fine as well. highly recommended.

I'm going to buy a new T/M and am wondering about the MinnKota Fortrex? Anyone with any comments would be appreciated. Also, anyone interested in a 65lb. foot controlled MinnKota Maxium purchased 5/09, in excellent shape, ($325.00) call me at 502-550-1326 - Dave

Just watch what kind of foot control you get. I can't remember what model mine is, but its got a foot "pad" and not the standard foot shaped unit. The problem with this one is you can't change direction and give it power at the same time, you have to change direction then give it power. So if your hung up near the bank and the wind is blowing it makes it tough to go in and constantly change directions and keep moving your foot to hit the power, I may not be making myself clear but it's very frustrating. I'm sure someone here knows what I mean.
If you buy before May 1st. get $100 off from MinnKota.
