    Re: NOLIN

We were cutting grass at our camp Friday & Saturday. Here are a few pics from around the lake. The lake is about 2 feet higher today than these pics. A woman at the COE told me that it would top out at 452 on Wednesday. That's 8 feet from the spillway cut.

The Spillway cut at the dam. Water is about 12 feet from the cut.

Hey JFW, I think we'll be lucky if it is down by July 4th. 36 feet over right now and it will likely take AT LEAST 45 days since I can't ever recall them dropping it more than around 1.2 feet or so in a day. Not to mention that they will probably have to start slow with all the other flooding....all the lakes probably can't be turned loose at once. Gonna be a tough couple months of fishing with water dropping like that...I've always had a tough time with falling water.

I'd like to hear anyone's opinions/techniques for bass fishing in a prolonged period of falling water like we are going to likely see.

    Thoughts?

i think i would fish rock walls or fast dropping banks. the fish in that stay in these areas usually either move up or move down to feed or adjust to water conditions. i would start on top with a popper and use different baits to work my way father down the water column until i found the depth the fish are using.

Exactly...with the water where it is, rock walls and deep banks are going to be the only water you can get a bait in front of a fish...impossible to get back into the trees on any other bank.
