    Enjoying the alternatives

With the weather acting like my nickname, I decided to get busy with other ways this weekend.

Friday right after work the lawn got moved and edged, flower beds got weeded, and a shed door got fixed. After a shower and a couple phone calls to buddies, loaded the van with 3 friends, headed for a good steak, then 5 hours of beer drinking, pool shooting, listening to a darn good rock and roll band, and just a little skrt watching. Saturday was clean up storm damaged tree day, setting up for new trees to be delivered, and car repairs overdue. By 7 pm, off to eat seafood, more brews and more darn good jamming rock and roll bands. Sunday was clearing a 50 foot Bradford Pear tree, clean down to just a 5 inch stump, all debris gone, all the good stuff cut up and stacked for firewood, then a call to some friends, hard rock in the garage with beers, while the burgers browned and the baked potatoes charred.

I have to admit, sometimes its just good to take a break from the boat. Cold beers taste better than semi-cold coffee, steaks smell better than shad, and a 10 minute drive to a rock bar with skirts beats the heck out of a 2 hour tow back and fish to clean.

The only exception would be if Cumberland went wet, found out what steaks tasted like, learned to live with hard rock, and found something with 2 legs that didn't have a Harley tattoo, or wear a John Deere t-shirt, and thought Jean Nate's aroma was better for attracting males than Bass Bait Spray.

So, Mister Weatherman, if you keep throwing this miserable weather at me, that's okay. I will ADAPT AND OVERCOME!
