If a Seal says he dead, I tend to believe him. They know those things. Double tap to the face, and done.

Burial at sea, given the problems it could have caused to any country that accepted the corpse and buried it, seems fitting to me. Islamic religion says body should be buried within 24 hours. We honored that. And, we have safeguarded his body from those extremists that may have wanted to unearth it and desecrate it. Thats not honoring the man, that's demonstrating honor.

The way honorable men treat their defeated enemies, tells us much about the depth of their character and the strength of their respect for other humans.

I'm sure there will be some interesting stories come out of this over the next few weeks. Things like, how much the Pakistanis knew about Bin Ladin's where abouts, who knew, who was helping to protect him. One of their military academies was just down the road, yet when the poop hit the fan, not a peep out of them. Can't imagine something like all that firing going on down the road from West Point and no response. Must have been a few interesting phone calls as things were going down. Something along the lines of: yeah, you hear those choppers over head, ummm, if your cadets all stay in bed, we won't have to use those on you too.

I agree that we need to see pictures to know for sure that he is dead but I'm not sure there's a good way of going about it without causing a towelhead revolt....Another thing Americans need to remember....Just because you cut the head off the snake it doesn't mean the snake can't bite....It's a good start to ending the radicals but a lot more has to be done before I feel safe

Look, I believe that the Seals did exactly what the report says they did. The men are courageous, well-trained, and executed the mission to an elite degree of precision. However, given the situation....given that the guy had been in hiding for a decade....given that he was buried at sea (which I actually think was a good idea now that I've read more about it)....I think that any notions of a hoax or cover up need to be squashed with a simple picture or two. I don't think that's too much to ask for, and I don't think that wanting such confirmation instead of blindly believing what the government tells us to be true is a slap in the face of the men who executed the mission.

We live in the age of information. Everyone is a skeptic. You have to belly up to the bar with proof these days, or everything becomes a conspiracy.

Just because a person (me in this case), wants to see a picture doesn't mean we don't believe. Kind of like your best friend or your dad or whoever catching a 12 pound smallmouth out of Dale...It was weighed on legal scales, there were plenty of witnesses according to the newspaper, heck even a good friend was there to see it and come back to tell you about it, but so what....I still wanna see a nice clear digital picture on my computer screen that I can zoom in on if I want to.

I know if I had a relative, close friend or even an acquaintance lose his or her life on September 11th, then I'd sure hell want to see a picture of that dead rascal, lying there with a bullet hole in his head. It would give me a sense of closure.
