    Boat Size restrictions on Bullock Pen, Kincaid, etc

    About a year or 2 ago, I saw it was illegal to launch boats above either 18'6 or 18'9 on these lakes. I even saw someone say one guy was given a ticket.

    I've tried finding the regulation online and can't. Can someone share if they have removed this sorry regulation or am I just unable to find it?

    There was a thread on this about a year ago. It was rumored that they were going to do away with the rule but I never heard anything official. Back then I did find the regulation, it took a lot of digging to find the document that contained all the restrictions on the lakes.

    I can find the Motor limit in the online KDR guide. I'm thinking 2 years ago this is where they called out the boat lenght restriction as well.

    If I don't start my motor (which is 200hp), I assume I am OK? I'd use my electric trolling motor only

    David, I used my trolling motor only when I fished there and did not have a problem. I even saw a CO who was getting on some guy for trying to start his big engine.
    There is a highlighted block on bottom of page 37 of the Fishing Guide which states: Legal-size boats exceeding the maximum horsepower restriction for a particular lake may operate their boat with an electric trolling motor only.

    Re: Boat Size restrictions on Bullock Pen, Kincaid, etc

    I found a document I had created about this back in 2009. Back then there were 57 lakes that had the 18' 6" rule. I also had a reference to the administrative regulation. That regulation has been update and the new rule is 22' size limit for those lakes. http://www.lrc.ky.gov/kar/301/001/015.htm

    Section 3. A person shall not operate an electric or an internal combustion boat motor on:
    (1) Dennie Gooch Lake, Pulaski County;
    (2) Kingdom Come Lake, Harlan County; and
    (3) Lake Chumley, Lincoln County.

    Section 4. covers 38 lakes that are electric trolling motor only.

    The 10HP rule still exists for these lakes.

    Section 5. On the following lakes, a person shall not operate a boat motor larger than ten (10) horsepower:
    (1) Beaver Lake, Anderson County;
    (2) Boltz Lake, Grant County;
    (3) Bullock Pen Lake, Grant County;
    (4) Corinth Lake, Grant County;
    (5) Elmer Davis Lake, Owen County;
    (6) Kincaid Lake, Pendleton County;
    (7) Shanty Hollow Lake, Warren County; and
    (8) Swan Lake, Ballard County.

    Section 6. A person shall not operate:
    (1) A boat motor larger than 150 horsepower on Lake Beshear,
    (2) A motorboat faster than idle speed on:
    (a) Carnico Lake, Nicholas County;
    (b) Greenbo Lake, Greenup County;
    (c) Pan Bowl Lake, Breathitt County; and
    (d) Wilgreen Lake, Madison County.

    Section 7. A person operating a boat motor larger than ten (10) horsepower shall not exceed idle speed at any time on the following lakes:
    (1) Herb Smith/Cranks Creek Lake; and
    (2) Martins Fork Lake
