Not sure about size of boat but i do know there is motor limit

| Search Fishin.com |
About a year or 2 ago, I saw it was illegal to launch boats above either 18'6 or 18'9 on these lakes. I even saw someone say one guy was given a ticket.
I've tried finding the regulation online and can't. Can someone share if they have removed this sorry regulation or am I just unable to find it?
Not sure about size of boat but i do know there is motor limit
There was a thread on this about a year ago. It was rumored that they were going to do away with the rule but I never heard anything official. Back then I did find the regulation, it took a lot of digging to find the document that contained all the restrictions on the lakes.
I can find the Motor limit in the online KDR guide. I'm thinking 2 years ago this is where they called out the boat lenght restriction as well.
there is no 18,6 rule no more but there is the 10hp or less
If I don't start my motor (which is 200hp), I assume I am OK? I'd use my electric trolling motor only
David, I used my trolling motor only when I fished there and did not have a problem. I even saw a CO who was getting on some guy for trying to start his big engine.
There is a highlighted block on bottom of page 37 of the Fishing Guide which states: Legal-size boats exceeding the maximum horsepower restriction for a particular lake may operate their boat with an electric trolling motor only.
I found a document I had created about this back in 2009. Back then there were 57 lakes that had the 18' 6" rule. I also had a reference to the administrative regulation. That regulation has been update and the new rule is 22' size limit for those lakes. http://www.lrc.ky.gov/kar/301/001/015.htm
