Kentucky Derby - The Winner Is.......

I picked Shackleford and Mucho Macho Man...the reason I picked Shackleford is because of Dale Romans (local boy)....and the reason I picked Macho Man is because of the story behind him (heart transplant trainer lady), always my luck though, they came in 3rd and 4th. It would have also been kind of cool to see Pants on Fire hit the board, even though he came in seventh place or so I thought the female jockey did a pretty good job of holding her own.

My wife bet 2 across on Animal Kingdom. I think I've mentioned on here before about how she and I work at the betting windows every year. Well get this. This guy's been betting with her all day, calling her his "good luck charm," says he's gonna bet $50 to win on a horse in the Derby, and asks her "Who should I bet on?" She didn't want to tell him who to bet on, because you generally don't want to do that (for obvious reasons), but she could tell the dude was loaded (in more ways than one), and he said, "if it wins, I'll split it with you!" So she told him Animal Kingdom, and he proceeds to bet $50 to win on Animal Kingdom. So once he won, she's thinking the guy's gonna come back, and if he doesn't actually split it with her, that's ok, he's probably going to give her a nice tip anyway. Nope, she never sees him again. That was pretty much how it went all day.
