The water in Bluegrass Creek was still very high and most all the land around it is still flooded. Part of the highway just to the West of the Bluegrass Parking Lot is still flooded over the North side of Boonville New Harmony Road last night.
Euler road is open now but the parking lot at Otter Pit is still flooded.
Likwise both ends of Loon Pit are flooded still.
You could launch a boat at the South end of Bluegrass Pit last night but you had to either back way back down the ramp to get the boat off the trailer or launch sideways to the ramp near the handi capped platform. It drops off about 3 ft on that part of the ramp area. Ie you would be backing into the water from the South and the boat would be going North parallel to the handicapped platform. Or you would be perpendicular to the launch ramp. It was deep enough there to get the boat off the trailer and out into the lake. Just be away or the rip rap that lines the North side of the concrete launch ramp and keep the motor raised up in shallow water drive position until you get out into deeper water.
We really do need a dock at this launch ramp to park the boats on after launching. The fishing area that the Boy scouts made a few years back was flooded with just the tops of the wooden pole holders sticking out of the flood waters.
Hopefully the waters will start dropping a little faster now that it's stopped raining.
The water had gone down about 6" as the very top of the concrete ramp was exposed to the sunlight yesterday afternoon. The day before water covered the concrete ramp and up into the gravel. So it's going down slowly now.
I'd like to get out and do some fishing this weekend.
