Dave, you are probably right in that many on this board would help a boater in trouble with out reservation.

I emphasize though that you and Charlie drove a distance at near dark and you had knowledge (were prepared) of the dam situation because you keep track of it and acted immediately.

I would say this was not your typical getting flagged down on the lake by someone having engine trouble on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I am sure I did not do anything many of you would not have done had you been faced with the same situation. Sorry I was quick and short with you George but when you told me the situation, I knew those guys could be in trouble, that is why I told you to call them and tell them to get tied up to something quick. That close to the dam and with the current out there right now, if they had ran out of trolling motor battery they would be caught up in the strong current and be taken thru the dam. It was also getting dark and I wanted to at least try to get my boat in the water before dark....we almost made it but it got dark on us so that made it even more fun....lol. Lots of logs floating here and there so going in the dark just added to the excitement...lol. When George called, I was on the phone with one of my sponsors and good friend Charlie Hardin (owener of Charmer Baits). As soon as I told him what was going on, Charile immediately volunteered to assist me in getting these folks off the lake (Charlie was down here at the Moor's to prefish for a tournament). Without Charlie's assistance, this would have been a lot more difficult task...thanks Charlie, you proved to me once again the type person you are last night.

Anyway, glad I was home and able to assist. I have been towed a few times and never refuse to tow anyone, and I am certainly not got to hesitate to assist anyone in a precarious situtation and these folks were and I am sure that most of you folks on this board would have done the same thing in a heart beat.

George, my quick decision to act on this was just part of my military background....when the crap hits the fan and every minute counts, yiou make the decision and you go do the mission....there is time for shaking after it is over.

Dave I’m curious where you launched the boat and where did you find the disabled fishermen. Had they managed to anchor or tie up to something on the bank?
Again good job to you and your sponsor, Charlie Hardin. I have used charmer baits in the past and will be glad to use his products in the future knowing how he helped a fellow fisherman and he makes a good bait.
