Chuck, I bought my 788DI HD for around 649.99 from a site called UniversalMania.com I also got my 798 HD SI from them for real cheap. He ships them super fast too, I got mine in like 3 days after buying them. You'll like the 788 better. My only gripe about the 788 is in really shallow water, the depth reading wacks out.
