Laurel Lake

My son is fishing a KBFN jr. tournament this weekend at Laurel Lake. Any information on lake conditions and what the fish are doing or a good place to start. Won't have time to pre fish. Haven't fished this lake in 20 years. Thanks

Laurel has been fishing very good. Took 16-11 to win BFL on 5/7. Dont know the patterns that were working for them. But, alot of fish have been caught in the standing timber. Two weeks ago they were more toward the mouth of timber, last week more up toward the head of them. This time of year and with the hot weather this week, the spawn for the most part should be over. Look at post spawn conditions, a little topwater in the morning, laydowns this time of year on Laurel is always good. I fish all over the lake, but I prefer the Craigs Creek area more.

Nice post bigfish. I'm mainly a Cumberland guy but I've been wanting to give Laurel a go as it has my beloved brown fish. I'm gonna hit this lake soon this year...

Fishing has been above par for Laurel this spring. This hot weather will put them in the summer pattern quick. But, the fishing should be good until first part of June.
