At the last DCFF meeting **** Haas talked about people keeping a life list of species they have caught on a fly rod. I sat down and tried my hand and admittedly it was not very impressive. Still it was fun and something I am going to keep track of. FWIW here is mine thus far:
Largemouth bass
Smallmouth bass
Spotted bass
Bluegill
Redear Sunfish
Pumpkin Seed
Rock Bass
White Crappie
Black Crappie
Black nose crappie
Rainbow trout
Brown trout
Brook trout
assorted chubs/minnows etc.

Dang Rich, I knew you had been at this for a while but man!![]()
Haha Tim....I really had to think back...sad thing is, I caught most of those species as a teenager in UT. I really need to add some more to the list now that I am older.....like King Salmon. Hope to get to Alaska sometime soon.

Oh yeah....and skipjack...haha.
Who could leave out the ubiquitous skipjack herring! **** things are everywhere.
I'm jealous of the many trout species you have in the bucket. Suppose I need to travel more.
Not a lot to list at this time, but hope to add smallmouth to the list this/next week;.
Rainbow
Brown
Brook
Bluegill
Sculpin
Boone, if you ever get up this way I can almost promise you we could add smallmouth to your list if you don't get one before then.
Went "Creeking" Thursday and today, and I can now add smallmouth to my list. No trophies, but first fish of the morning at 8:30 was a 14 inch SM and an olive bugger. Then a couple more, then the bite died after 10:00 am,. about the time I was thinking I had the pattern down.
But, two great days to be in the water and explore one of KY's greatest creeks!!!!
Thursday also yielded a couple of Rock Bass, one on the olive bugger and the other on an black nose dace. So with those and a white bass which I had forgotten about, my up dated list is:
Rainbow trout
Brown trout
Brook trout
Bluegill
Sculpin
White Bass
Rock Bass
Smallmouth

Glad you got the smallie Boone. They are a blast on the fly rod. I guess you found some fishable water up there at Elkhorn. Lou told me Wednesday that you were going to fish there. He was supposed to go to Otter Thursday, but haven't heard how he did. Congrats on the bronzeback.
