What is the difference between a motor and an engine? Is it two words for one thing or do they have specific differences? Just wondering...

Definition of a motor:

A machine that converts energy into motion and can be used as a power source, e.g. to drive another machine or to move a vehicle

Definition of an engine:

A machine that converts an energy source into mechanical power or motion.

The terms can be synonymous.
