    Where to begin?

Heading down to Rough this weekend and was looking for a little help on where to begin looking for the bass. I'm not looking for anyone's secret spot or anything, just a general idea of where I should start with the water as high as it is. Back of creeks, secondary points, main lake points......I have not fished water this high before and was hoping to make a good weekend out of it. Putting in at Axtel so I would prefer to stay up that way but I will make the run if it is necessary. Also what do you guys think I should be throwing with the water like it is?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I would try some deep cranks on main lake points with the water so high. If you can find some rock pilings out on the lake I have had good luck using Rat-L-Traps in those areas to catch hybrids. I've never done very well when the water is high, best of luck to you.

Thanks for the help Mark! I knew you would know where to find them, lol. Just trying to figure out where to catch some fish, at this point as long as I am catching fish I am going to be happy, even if they're small.

    Re: Where to begin?

I think we fished 90% of the water and only found 10% of the fish---wasn't a great day for big fish----but, it was great weather and alot more fun then work.
